Gabrielle Moore
Gabrielle Moore is a versatile Barbadian fine artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans 3D conceptual assemblages, paintings, and installations. Her work explores the duality of the human condition both psychologically and physically, while delving into how thoughts and emotions shape our perception of reality. Drawing from her personal experiences, Gabrielle engages with themes of identity, mental health, and the search for balance in this complex world. Recently, she has focused on how history, race, culture, and everyday Caribbean life impact mental health and identity. Using the metaphor of paradise to represent the mind, Gabrielle disrupts this idyllic space with stark material juxtapositions, symbolizing the complexity of individual experiences. Her work reflects the tension between conforming and resisting in both physical and mental spaces. Through her art, she invites viewers to consider how our personal history, beliefs, and choices shape our perception of the world and our place within it.
