Bathsheba Tunes | Acrylic on Round Canvas | 16" | BBD$900.00/USD$450.00 Bathsheba Tunes captures the rhythmic energy of Barbados’ Iconic Bathsheba coastline. The central rock formation is depicted with textured strokes, echoing the rugged landscape, while the shoreline itself is a visual symphony of the powerful Atlantic. I’ve used thick impasto to show the waves crashing against the beach, with foamy white peaks contrasting the deep blues and greens of the water. The pebbled sand, rendered in a mosaic of earthy tones, meets the dynamic ocean, creating a beautiful and complex transition. This piece aims to translate the unique symphony of Bathsheba- the visual and auditory- onto a circular canvas, celebrating the wild and untamed beauty of its shoreline.
Bottom Bay Blues | Acrylic on Round Canvas | 16" | BBD$800.00/USD$400.00 For this painting of Bottom Bay, a location often depicted with numerous palm trees to enhance its picturesque appeal, I intentionally chose a different focus. Instead of emphasizing a postcard-perfect scene, I aimed to capture the raw and dramatic beauty of the coastline. You’ll notice the absence of a dense palm grove; instead, my brush focused on the textured grandeur of the cliffs meeting the vibrant turquoise of the Atlantic. The energy of the waves crashing on the store rendered with thick impasto, and the rugged details of the rock formations are what drew my eye. This is my personal interpretation of Bottom Bay, appreciating its natural power and less commonly seen facets.
